Baby journal apps without a subscription: what to look for and why Everkeep is a one-time purchase

Many baby book apps are sold as subscriptions. Everkeep takes the other approach: keeping pages is free and stays free, and Everkeep Pro is a single $9.99 purchase you make once.

The problem with subscription baby books

A baby book is a five-to-eighteen-year project. Subscriptions were designed for services you might cancel next month, not for the one file you want to hand your child at graduation.

  • The maths adds up. A plan at $5 a month is $60 a year and $300 over five years, for a book you could hold yourself.
  • Ask what happens when you stop. Before you commit years of memories to a subscription, check what you can still see and export if you cancel.
  • Prices can change. When the memories live on someone else’s server, you pay whatever comes next.

What a fair, no-subscription baby journal looks like

Everkeep’s model is simple, and it is written into the app’s store listing:

Free, and stays freeEverkeep Pro, $9.99 once
Photos, videos, voice and notes, as many as you likeThe printed book as a clean PDF to share, save or send to a printer
The book, in chapters by month of lifeMonth films saved to your phone
Firsts, and growth with height, weight and head sizeA book for every child
Import from your photo library, with undo for 30 daysLooking Back: pages that return on their anniversaries
The cover colour, the lock, backup files and gentle remindersHandwriting read into text and voice notes written out, without a limit

Nothing free expires. The free app also reads handwriting into text and writes out voice notes five times each. Everkeep Pro is bought once through Google Play or the App Store, and you can restore the purchase on a later phone from the same store account.

No account, so nothing to cancel. Everkeep has no login. Your book is on your phone, and your backup file is wherever you saved it.

No-subscription baby journal FAQ

Will Everkeep ever add a subscription?

Everkeep Pro is sold as a single purchase, and the store listing says so: “Everkeep Pro is a single purchase, not a subscription.”

What happens to my memories if I never buy Pro?

Nothing. Keeping pages is free and stays free, and so are the book, firsts, growth, import, the lock and backups. Pro adds to the book; it never holds back the pages you already have.

Can I share the Pro purchase with my partner?

Everkeep Pro belongs to the store account that bought it, and you can restore it on other devices signed in to that account. It is not shared through Family Sharing.
