Three ways to print a baby book, compared
| Approach | Effort | Cost | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo-book website | High: drag photos into templates, write captions from memory | $40–$120 per book | Hours of layout; you rarely remember the stories |
| Subscription baby-book app | Low: prompts build the book | $50–$80 per year plus $80–$165 per printed book | Locked to their printer; memories live on their server |
| Journal + PDF export (Everkeep) | Low: capture as you go | $9.99 once, then print anywhere | Clean fixed layout rather than custom templates |
What Everkeep's print-ready PDF contains
Everkeep Pro’s memory book is a PDF built from the active child’s memories: a cover, then one chapter per month with the photos, titles and the notes you wrote. Video memories appear as stills; voice memories are counted in the chapter. Two toggles control privacy: Include exact dates (off by default, so chapters read as months and ages) and Include location (off by default). Camera metadata is stripped from every image.
Because it is a normal PDF, you decide how to print it: your home printer, a high-street print shop, or upload it to any online service that prints PDFs as bound books. There is no lock-in and no per-page upsell.
Tip: Export a book at the end of each year. Twelve chapters makes a satisfying volume, and the story is fresh enough that you can fill any gaps first.

Printing a baby book FAQ
What size is the PDF? Can I choose paper size?
Everkeep produces a standard portrait PDF. Most print services and home printers can scale it to common book sizes; check your printer’s options for “fit to page” or ask the print shop to size it for you.
Can I customise the cover, fonts or layout?
Not currently. Everkeep uses one clean, consistent design so books from different years match on the shelf. Your photos and your writing provide the personality.
Can I re-export after adding more memories?
Yes, as often as you like. Each export reflects the journal as it is today, so you can print an updated edition any time.
